Observation of World Kindness Day | 28 November 2025
Lecture #6 of the Voices of Life Lecture Series was successfully conducted on 28 November 2025 in observance of World Kindness Day. The event was organized by the Indian Association of Life Skills Education (IALSE), Chennai, and Smt. Maniben M. P. Shah Women’s College of Arts & Commerce, in collaboration with Jamia Millia Islamia.
The lecture series aims to promote essential life skills, emotional intelligence, and holistic wellbeing. This session highlighted kindness as a core life skill, emphasizing its role in empathy, emotional intelligence, and meaningful human relationships.
The program opened with reflections on kindness and previous themes explored in the series, followed by a welcome address that underscored kindness as a powerful human connection beyond polite behavior. The Presidential Address emphasized the importance of empathy and kindness in leadership, governance, and social development.
The keynote address explored kindness through the lens of emotional intelligence and empathy, explaining empathy as an active, learnable life skill that transforms understanding into responsible action. The session highlighted how empathy reduces misunderstandings, strengthens relationships, and fosters inclusive communities. The speaker emphasized that empathy, compassion, and kindness together form the foundation of emotionally healthy individuals and societies.
An engaging interaction session reinforced the importance of educators and leaders modeling empathy in everyday actions. The event concluded with a reminder that small acts of kindness can create lasting positive change, aligning with the spirit of World Kindness Day.
Lecture series 6 added a meaningful chapter to the Voices of Life Lecture Series, inspiring participants to practice empathy, emotional intelligence, and kindness in daily life.
