International Conference On Life Skills Education (ICLSE-2017)
Theme: Life Skills for Achieving Sustainable Development Goals 2030
We are living in a time of immense challenges and opportunities. Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) 2015 made significant progress in meeting many developmental challenges. Yet poverty, inequalities and disparities of various kind affect billions of people around the world. The Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 2030) agenda was adopted on 25th September 2015 to address the unfinished business of MDGs and to advance sustainable development in a balanced and integrated manner.
Life skills education can play a vital role in the quest to achieving the SDG (2030). Life skills can contribute to the overall social and economic development of children, youth and adults. Life skill also foster the development of skills, values and attitudes that enable citizens to lead healthy and fulfilled lives, make informed decisions, and effectively respond to local and global challenges. Recognising that the dignity of every individual is fundamental, and to guarantee that no one is left behind, nations must take steps to ensure that the SDG 2030 goals and targets are achieved for the benefit of all segments of the society.
