Prof. Baby Shari P.A. is a distinguished Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Calicut, Kerala, with over 25 years of exemplary service in academia and psychology. Holding a PhD from the University of Calicut, she graduated with first rank in her MA in Psychology and has built an illustrious career spanning teaching, research, and administrative leadership. As a prolific researcher and mentor, she has guided 7 completed doctoral theses with 8 ongoing, supervised 23 MPhil dissertations, and mentored over 100 Master’s thesis students. Her research excellence has been recognized through prestigious awards including the Innovative Research Award (2019) and Best Extension Work Award (2017) from the Indian Academy of Applied Psychology, along with multiple research grants from ICSSR and Sarva Siksha Abhiyan. Prof. Shari has held numerous leadership positions including Senate Member, Chairperson of Board of Studies in Psychology, Head of Department, and various committee chairpersonships at the University of Calicut. With an impressive portfolio of 40 journal publications, over 100 paper presentations and keynote addresses, and 200+ workshops organized, she has made significant contributions to school psychology, adolescent development, and gender studies. Her extensive community service includes psychological consultancy services, social extension programs, and training initiatives, while maintaining lifetime memberships in key professional organizations including IAAP, InSPA, and NART.
